3D embroidery question

Hey guys, is a special or newer machine needed to do 3D/puff embroidery or is special software needed or is it all in the digitizing? Thanks in advance.

It's in the digitizing and the foam. I'm sure you'll get info' via Google. I seem to remember that Wilcom had one of their videos about this.

Thanks for the reply. I knew the digitizing is what is important, just didnt really know if any machine new or old can do it. Probably didn't word my question right.

Also, maybe you can help me with this to... Can a 6 needle machine do a 10 color job? like can you change the thread colors and continue with more colors or can a 6 needle do 6 color max design?

Yes you can, program your machine 1,2,3,4,5,6,6,1,2,3. The sixes together should stop your machine automatically. Change the colors of 6,1,2,3 to your other colors. Push start and let it finish the job.
