advice needed :)

Hi everyone!
I am completely new to this entire topic and need some advice. My husband and I are looking to getting into printing designs on fabrics and creating speedskating suits. I sew them at the moment, but would love to create my own design (ex. Flames or such on arms), print and sew. Is this possible? If so, what type of machine would be required to do projects like this? If any of you have seen the team canada olympic short track suits, this is what I'm hoping to do.
Is it possible to have the same machine print logos or pictures on t shirts as well?
