Also thinking of a new business
I am currently in a retail business that provides a fair amount of traffic during the summer months (located in a small beach community in the south). I'm considering purchasing an embroidery machine and adding a line of personalized gifts (bags, towels, towel wraps, purses, etc.) to the mix. Initially, I wouldn't be going after custom business (not in the sense of whole baseball teams), but would be selling an item and personalizing it on the spot (or with a quick turn around). My hope is that this would keep us busy in the off season and provide an additional revenue stream in the summer. I'm wondering what the best type of machine for this application is, and if there is any money in it this way. There is no one else in town who does this from their store front (there are some home-based businesses). Any advice is appreciated.
