I keep up with a lot of these posts, and notice we all have a lot in common. There seems to be a lot of hesitation as to whether or not to add one of these DTG machines to your shop. I own a small Sign, Printing, Embroidery shop and got tired of subbing my T-Shirts out to other folks to make the bulk of the money. I decided it was time to bring the work 'in house'. I didn't hesitate much, but i did do my research prior to purchasing a unit. It all came down to quality and economics. I decided on the Anajet because it was the most economical while offering, IMHO, the same quality that the other more expensive machines offered AND printed on dark garments. I don't regret purchasing it, but i do have to take in to consideration the daily operating and maintenance costs that the machine (any machine) has associated with it. I print on it a couple of times a week and the runs are typically 1-5. The machine will make you money when you can produce 50-60 per week and you don't feel near the expense crunch when it's cranking the product out. What I've learned is that every other piece of equipment in my shop can sit idle and not cost me money. A DTG printer, by it's own nature and composition of inks that are required to print on textiles, can not.
I will consider all serious offers on this machine that's less than a year old. I have talked with several of you that follow this topic and don't mind telling you that you need to keep this machine running to minimize the expenses that are incurred with owning a DTG printer. I agree with a previous poster that stated build your business prior to the purchase, not the other way around. Good luck to all - Jeff
