Bernina Artista 180E or 200E

Yesterday I started to look for home embroidery machines in my town and saw the Bernina Artista 180E and the 200E. I liked both machines very much and the sales man there is great to communicate with, but I don’t think he’s an embroidery expert. I was told his supervisor will be in tomorrow and I could ask him more technical questions. Both machines are very capable, and very costly. I’m sure I’ll get great value for the money. However, I’m thinking more in the lines of which machine can do what I need without paying for features that I don’t need in order to save money.

Ok so what is it that I want the machine for you’re thinking? I want to embroider for personal stuff, to give to friends, and to sell personalized gifts like baby bibs, receiving blankets, fleece blankets and others too. I’m not looking for a machine that can embroider all day everyday. More of a hobby and selling some items on the side for lunch money.

The Artista 200E is much more expensive, but has more features and is better than 180E. But, I don’t want to have to pay for more features that I don’t need if the 180E can do what I need. The non-embroidery expert sales man gave his recommendation, but I don’t want to mention it in this thread because I want to hear what you guys think. Then I’ll visit and ask more questions when the supervisor comes in tomorrow. Basically, I want everybody’s input. Thanks gals and guys :)
