Best home embroidery machines?

I’m starting to shop around for my first reliable home embroidery machine and I was wondering what you guys think is the best home machine to buy? What are the best ones or best brands? I don’t have a set budget, but if the price is reasonable and value for the money is good then I can probably mange to pay. After all, what are credit cards for? LOL

So what do you guys think??

You will find people will recommend the model or brand of machine they have. With that said, you can’t go wrong with Brother. I’ve had mine for a year now and it hasn’t let me down yet! It accepts the .pes file format and you’ll notice there are lots of free embroidery designs for download in .pes format.

I have Bernina Artista and I’m very happy with my choice. What you need to do is demo all the machines in your area. Choosing a great dealer is as important as choosing the machine in my opinion especially if your just starting out. You will have lots of questions and need training so a great dealer will take a great burden off your shoulder. You’ll need lots of hand-holding like I did when I started. The last thing you need is feeling regret or let down after spending thousands on a machine for a hobby.

I agree with the above post completely. When you’re new to embroidery it’s so overwhelming and you really want to get your money’s worth. If your dealer is not nice at all after the money is in their pocket, you’ll kick yourself! Also, after the embroidery machine is purchased, the spending doesn’t stop there. Oh no you have to buy lots and lots of threads and stabilizers and replacement needles and on and on! It’s a very expensive hobby!!!

I’ve got a Singer & a Janome. Very happy with the Janome more than the Singer.
