Digitizing Software - Wilcom ES 21 or ES 65?

Hello. I just had a quick browse at the Wilcom website looking for digitizing software. I checked there first because a lot people recommend Wilcom for digitizing solution. I won’t be doing any of the digitizing. What I want to do is hire a digitizer in-house. I admit I’m pretty ignorant with the whole digitizing thing and that’s why I’m here. Any digitizer wanna give their input? I plan on going at a show to meet with their sales people and get a demo, but I want to come there with some sort of idea at least. I won’t be making a purchase however in the near future so I’m basically in the very early stage of research. Thanks guys.

There is a huge difference in features with ES 21 and ES 65. First, ES 21 is not a digitizing software – it’s an editing software (to view and alter embroidery designs). You can’t take a vector or bitmap file and turn it into an embroidery file with ES 21.

What you need to digitize is either ES 45 or ES 65. ES 45 has much less features than ES 65, but it costs thousands of dollars less. So look in to those two levels. I would get ES 45 since it can do pretty much anything a digitizer needs. You can always upgrade anyways.
