Digitizing - Tie off stitches between letters

Trying to learn digitizing on my own is pretty frustrating, but I’m getting by nonetheless. I am still so far away from being good at digitizing for custom embroidery work so I still outsource my digitizing needs - hopefully not forever though! Right now I’m only concentrating on digitizing lettering. The manual for my digitizing software does illustrate how to tie off stitches (and remove tie offs), but it doesn’t mention when to do it. I’ve got a pretty good idea when from looking at other lettering that I’ve outsourced that embroider well, but I still have some concerns because I feel the software automatically inserts tie offs between letters where I feel it shouldn’t. Is the software correct? I’d ask my digitizer, but I feel it’s rude so I’m asking you guys instead hehe.

Whatever digitizing/lettering software you’re using, it’s just a tool. You have to instruct it what to do. If you don’t feel there should be tie offs between letters, then you have to figure out how to remove those tie offs. Generally, you shouldn’t tie off between letters unless you will be trimming the connector/jump threads or changing colors. Hope this helps :)
