Ivory material?

Is there a synthetic ivory material for laser engraving available?

Do a web search for “Scrimshaw” or for “scrimshaw supplies”. All the “ivory” used in scrimshawing (engraving on ivory tusks and tooth) is actually a hard polyester resin dyed to match the look of ivory and cast into molds with defects on them. Visually, they are virtually indistinguishable from real ivory. It is illegal to sell real ivory in the US and in many other countries.

Please specify what application you looking for as a substitute in India we have one Korean material available with us which looks like ivory.

It would be used as plates for engraving on awards. Similar to LaserMax, only solid ivory color throughout.

For plates I would like to suggest you to use ivory vinyl which can be pasted on any material like acrylic etc. Normally for this application I use 2.5 mm black acrylic and than paste ivory vinyl on it than I can easily fill colors by covering the plate by masking tape before engraving. Resin is also an another option if budget constraint is not there.
