Mon-Rex Metallic Embroidery Threads

An embroidery supplies store 1 1/2 hours away carries Mon-Rex brand metallic embroidery threads and no other brands of metallic. She e-mailed a brochure of the threads and they look great on screen, but that doesn’t really say anything about the quality. I need some metallic threads right away for a rush order I just got! I thought I still had some stored, but it turns I don’t. I should have known better than to accept a repeat order without checking thread inventory beforehand. Doh!

On one hand, ordering from my favorite embroidery supplies store online would probably make me miss the deadline because it’s a very rushed order. It’s for a very loyal customer too. On the other hand, I don’t want to drive around for 3 hours to buy what could be crappy thread that in turn, make a bad situation even worse. My other option is to tell my customer to wait or cancel the order altogether which I do not want to do. Anybody used Mon-Rex metallic threads before and what was your experience with it?

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but Mon-Rex is manufactured by ARC, a reputable thread brand. Anyways, you don’t have anything to worry about. I actually have several spools of Mon-Rex thread stashed somewhere. I have used it in the past and did not have anymore problem than the other brands of metallic threads I’ve used. I rarely do designs involving metallic thread because it’s very nerve-racking for me. I find metallic threads to be more prone to thread breaks.

Yes monrex is by arc. I’ve used monrex metallic for a long time now and will continue to do so. Many of my online friends use it too without complain. Good luck with your rush order!
