Pictures on acrylic

I have been doing pretty well with photos on wood, but I have been asked about photos on glass and acrylic. Seems well nye impossible but I had gotten a sample from versa laser (I have an Epilog) at a convention that did a nice job — and of course I know they worked that picture out ahead of time for best looks. There has to be a relatively easy way of doing it. I have tried posterizing, inverting and halftone effects but nothing seems to get it “right” — you know that touch that gives just the right impression. Who has done this and gets good results? what are you doing? I might add I am trying to buy my first house so anything I can do to increase income for the long run is going to be a good thing.

I always go for a dark color base of wood besides clear acrylic, it always looks good, I use spacers between wood and acrylic.

When I do photos on glass and non cast acrylic I paint the glass black then invert the photo the laser removes the black paint except where the photo has dark spots this leaves the glass with a frosted look. This makes a very nice photo that you can see from both sides. I use the floating photo frames that just has the glass and no back. And if places on a desk both sides can be viewed I also make candle shades the same way then the flame flickers through the photo very nine and very popular.

Sounds nice, What type of paint do you use, gloss, satin or flat? What are the candle shades you are talking about. Sounds cool but I have not seen them before. Where do you get them?

Do you have pictures of the candle shades? I’m trying to picture out what it looks like. And also photos of your picture frame with no back.
