Plastic pistol grips

I have a customer that sells pistol grips I have done some stag horn grips for him in the past that always turn out nice but he also has a line of hard plastic grips that he would like engraved. What I need to know is if these can be color filled? and what is the best thing to use to color fill them? I worry about the color holding up in something that is handled a lot.

Scary isn’t it?

The most important thing is to get the grips clean. If there is any oils under the paint, it will never hold up. Next you’d want to get the engraving below the surface level of the grip so that it doesn’t get rubbed by the holster.

Something like automobile touchup paint should work pretty good as a fill. It’s designed for all surfaces and sets up hard and glossy.

Will you be blasting or trying to get depth with the laser?

I have a sample and will try with just the laser first I don’t have the blasting equipment at this time but if this order pans out I might get something.
