Default Bad-415 trimmer timing

Hey folks

I have an old BAS-415 I just purchased a few weeks ago. Needed some work, but with the beauty of tons of research ongoogle and youtube the machine is running great now except for trimming. Knives seem to cut fine when just manually moving cutter. But when running a job the upper thread puller grabs the thread but does not pull up all the way. Ends up creating a big loop of thread and my job ends up being a big mess of these loops tangled up in the embroidery. Seems to me like the thread isnt being cut. When i turn the job upside down i see a line the bobbin thread move from each new stitch to the next.

The knife timing seems odd to me. Being so new to the machine and embroidery in general I am not sure if what I see is normal or off. I do have the service manual but the instructions are very vague. There is nothing on youtube for this model. As it goes into the thread trim the needle slows down and the trim process begins. I believe the trimmer is in the right position (sitting just under the fixed knife), it is then pulled forward further under the fixed knife then is pushed to the front in an "wide open position". The picker engages at this time as the knife is pushed out. . There is a pause of a second or two, then the knife returns to its default position then the machine resumes stitching.

Is anyone here versed in how to set knife timing for this machine? I can send small vid clip of cutting action if need to see.

Thanks

Carey
