Default Bankruptcy Clients

How you handle if you have pending payments for any client which sends you email to talk to his lawyer to recover payments as he said they have filed bankruptcy

Its reputed big LLC Company in Irvine which is not paying digitizing payments!

Hey Jagan.... I had the same issue exactly with another customer of mine in UK.

The customer was:
www.w2u.co.uk?|?bar-wear.co.uk?Sales: 08453 880 440 | DDI: +44 1754 760 200 | ?+44 1754 760 229 | Mob: 07939 140 190
W2U Branding?Head office: Promotions Studio, 66A Alexandra Road, PE25 3RE. United Kingdom.

He told me to contact the lawyers. I emailed the lawyers but no response so I called them but the number was no valid.

I couldn't do anything because the customer stopped answering my emails and that was that...lost that money.

There are theives all over the world!!!!

After that experience we no more provide credit facilities to any new customers. We don't care how big they are. End of the day if you don't get paid you're the loser.

We have had so many freebie seekers too and thats why we stopped doing free designs.

Hence we decided if a customer wants to try out an order with us, we will offer it at 50% off. That way if the customer is genuine they will pay. If they are freebie seekers then they wont answer back. Atleast that way you cover your costs and get rid of fake enquiries.

As for credit, yes we might loose out on business because big companies cannot make payment for every order, but we have decided no credit for anyone to safeguard ourselves. If a company really likes your work they can pay a deposit upfront and trust us the same way they expect us to trust them on credit. This world is getting crazier day by day and if you are not careful others will wipe you out!!! Be careful.

In my experience, you have to contact the bankrupcy lawyer for the company, and sometimes contact the bankruptcy court to get the case number, and send your claim as a debtor to both to get in line to get paid. Don't count on it,,,but, at least follow up on it.

That's just my personal experience with dealing that,,,I've collected every time though.

Good luck

do you think its a good idea for digitizers to mention names of companies who they have dealt with and not paid so other digitizers can watch out for them?

I do,,,yes indeed. If it's all true, and they owe you,,,,,,and you could prove it if need be, then mention it all you want,,,,,so we'll all know to stay away from them.

It seems more "big" companies that offer clothing and embroidery and printing services are hitting the dirt,,,,,too big, too fast, too much overhead,, to high prices.

I think it is a great idea to mention dead beats on here especially ones that use the forums to find digitizers, I have seen many cases of it on the old forum where people would digitizer shop from one to the next and never pay any of them.

Also if you do get your self on the list as a debtor chances are your open balance will be so small compared to their other vendors you willbe at the bottom of the list and probably never get paid.

Also if they stay in business but under bankruptcy reorganization you will have a choice to make as well.. do you do additional work for them to try and recoup some of your losses or do you stop and just take the loss you already have taken? Same goes for when one company buys another one... the new owner may decide previous debts are not his to worry about... you will have to make the same decision..

The way we dealt with bankruptcy business' that came back after the reorganization and wanted to do business with us, not this business but others we've been in, is they first pay up their debt,,,regardless of who owns the company now or who manages it.

If they pay, they're on "pay before you play",,,and it worked every time,,,,some stayed with us, and us them, and it worked out.

Most left after just a bit,,,,,and that was fine.

Every state is different though,,,
