Question Bent needle or tangled thread error question

Hey everyone. I have a Brother PR650e and during the busy Xmas season have run into a problem. I am getting a tangled thread or bent needle error constantly - inappropriate need stop position) changing or using a different needle does not make a difference and thread is not tangled (it is happening on each of 6 needles). I was thinking it was likely the bobbin casing causing the problem but do not want to drive an hour to get one if I don't need to. Anyone's opinion or experience would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Bent needle or tangled thread error question

There could be many reasons for this happening, but the main ones would be:

Rough part on the rotating hook, bobbin, or thread path
Timing or position of the hook is wrong
Hook retaining finger too close to hook
Needle plate not aligned
Tension is too loose (less likely as it is all needles)
Incorrect or insufficient backing for material
Too many stitches in the design, making the work too thick and heavy

Depending upon your experience, you should be able to check most of them. However, if the hook is worn, or has something snagging, it won't always be obvious.
If you feel confident, but aren't sure how to proceed, just reply and I'll walk you through each check.
