The Bernina 830 has a huge free arm which allows the quilter all the room she needs to sew big quilts. The huge area on the Bernina 830 also allows for the embroiderer to use the New Jumbo Hoop which is the biggest embroidery hoop on the market that requires no repositioning. Automatic Threading
It took Swiss engineers to create this efficient, one-process threading system. Just bring the thread up through the guide, let it fall into the slot on top, slide it along the left side of the machine, press a button, and your needle is automatically threaded––no matter what position it’s in. Of course, because BERNINA always gives you choices, you have the option to thread your 830 manually as well.

Ideal Thread-Supply System
Our exclusive multi-spool holder keeps large, medium and small cones at the ready. The vertical holders and telescoping feature make for the smoothest thread release possible. In addition, the bobbin winder is located on the front of the machine for easy access, and it lets you select speed and amount of fill.
