I'm not sure if I am posting in the right area or not. I recently bought a Bernina Artista 200E and it ame with all of the software needed to run it. The lady that I bought it from had it connected to a laptop running Windows XP and it worked fine. I have an spare older laptop that I am using for the Bernina and it also has Windows XP on it. I installed the software today and I got a message that said HASP driver not installed. I figured out that issue, got the correct driver installed and now it is giving me a new message. When I click on the Bernina Artista icon a message pops up saying security device not found even though the HASP device is plugged in. I looked this issue up and it says I need to change the computer BIOS setting for the parallel port. I do not know how to do this and would love some help in doing this so i can start embroidering designs.
First, you need to go into the BIOS, it is normal press the F1 or F2 or some machine is F12 or Escape. Just make sure you find the correct key to go into the SETUP screen, it is the BIOS settings. Then look for the LPT port, normally, it is under the Peripheral setting. Change the LPT accordingly.
Thank you very much for the advice. I actually found out how to get it working right by looking on Google. Come to find out there is a completely different way to install the software if you are using Windows XP verses the older software. It is up and working great now. Thanks for all your help.
