Best caps/hats for embroidery???

Thank you for very informative post!

I noticed that in a lot of cases customers asking for my advice on what kind of hat should they choose in the light of the final quality with the embroidery.

And of course sometimes customers will choose their own brand/shape/design even if I would explain them that on this particular hat design they want will not come out OK. But sometimes I am not happy with the way hat came out and they are very happy.. I guess it's very subjective..

the limitation on the number of colors never really bothered me.. I am not a mass production shop, I rather call myself a custom embroidery shop offering embroidery just as a part of the service. My orders are small - one/two dozen shirts, hats etc.. So there is no problem to change colors in the middle of the run.. At least it hasn't been so far..

Yeah, this is really a problem.. At some point I decided that I will try to digitaize files myslef, and I've done it with some success, but sometimes it's just not coming out good enough..

The other question - what it the special about digitizing designs for caps?

Can someone recommend the best hats made in America or other free / fair trade (like a socially conscious workshop in any location Central America, India, Africa) from which to order hats? I am ideally looking for the entity to supply the hat and embroider it, but can work with different shops to find the right made in USA or free/fair trade supplier and service provider (embroidery). Thanks!
