I just purchased embroidery business, when I click on icon on computer it tells me to put in hardware key?

Your software requires a security device or "key" to work. It's to insure you have the license to use the software. Usually a "dongle" you put in the serial port or a USB stick that you have in the USB slot in your computer. May want to ask the previous owner where that is if it's not already on the computer.

I have everything I think for this, the original owner has passed and his son sold so I am figuring this all out on my own. Thank you so much for your info.
It does have a usb stick in it and they told me not to lose that cause all they new about it was I needed that. Any info is very helpful Thanks again

So when you try to open the program, a window pops up asking for the "hardware key"? Assuming that there is a space for you to enter a number.....try looking at the USB key itself, it may have the number on it. If not, look at the case of the CD of the program itself ....you are looking for the "key" or serial number to the software for it to work. Worst case, contact the manufacturer of the software and they may be able to help.

Did you ever get your software up and running?
