Default brother versus kornit

Question for users - I am a screenprinter and some of my customers wear shirts printed ten years ago, and screen will always be better. But there is a place for DTG and I have been offered a Brother DTG 782 quite cheaply, but have also been looking at Kornit because of speed and ink cost - but in terms of quality - what would you say the average washes are for a big print with two white passes and CMYK for your machine, using heat tunnel drier for curing before print deteriorates. Which lasts longest?

You are comparing a ferrari with a chevy. Kornit has printers for half a million dollars. In terms of quality both are pretty good. Its mostly about speed and ink costs that will get you with the cheaper printers like brother.

I saw a kornit at a trade show in Atlanta and it was impressive. Definitely faster.

I can only speak for what I know and that is Brother prints nice. No adjusting colors, processing, converting or anything.

Kornit inks are not as cheap as everyone claims when you check the numbers.

the short answer is don't buy kornit entry level machine. In fact, they retired their breeze from the market as of 2019. I wrote a guide on what to choose for entry level DTG printers here: Brother GTX vs Epson F2100 vs Kornit Breeze
