Default Can you recommend an digitizing software?

My company is currently sending out designs to an outside digitizer and it's costing us thousands of dollar a year. So we are thinking of buying the embroidery software and doing it in house.

Unlike graphic design where Adobe Photoshop seem to be the market leader, there seem to be a lot of different software program costing anywhere from a few hundred dollar to a few thousands dollar. They don't seem to offer demo so I could try it out either. So can you guys point me to a direction so I can do further research or recommend a program to buy? What's the popular program in the industry?

Thanks

are you passing the cost of digitizing on to your customers? That alone would save you a bunch of money. As for the Software, unless you know how to digitize, you will still be sending it out. I myself do not digitize, but I do know that learning it will take time. From what I've read and heard from other digitizers, Wilcom seems to be the best, They do have different levels. Almost any digitizing software will work for you. It seems to just depend on what you need to do, how difficult the job you are going to do and how much you wish to spend. Good luck.

Hi,
I am a United States NAVY Veteran, Proud American and a freelance digitizer with 16 years full time experience, I use tajima DG/ML by Pulse designer edition....actually worked for Lands' End as one of their first digitizers 16 years ago...and helped in the testing process of creating this software with the Pulse programmers out of Canada when it was first developed. I am looking for some more work...and it is done right here in the good old U.S.A. ,by me and only me... so communication is great....send me an email if you would be interested in using my services .... or call 608-943-8205 or 608-778-1215 8:00am-8:00pm central time and please leave message if I am unavailable and I will get back to you ASAP...

Pricing is $1.50 per 1,000 stitches/ give or take
prices are negotiable....mostly based on difficulty/ease of design vs. stitch count
FREE QUOTES
NO hidden costs..when I say it will cost this amount, that's what it will cost..
Free Resizing/editing (ex: date/name change) L. chest logo
1-3 day turnaround depending on workload @ time....It is ONLY me doing the digitizing..
(speed = lack of quality, attention to detail = QUALITY)
secure payment through PAYPAL
GUARANTEED EXCEPTIONAL WORK !!!!

Thanks for your time,

Brent Burghy

G15......just my 2cents worth...but maybe you are paying to much for the services you are receiving, Digitizing really takes years of experience to master....there are MANY,MANY, MANY variables to take in to account when digitizing a logo.....I know that I LOVE the tajima/pulse software .....and they will also give some basic digitizing classes when you purchase the software from them.....but like I said very basic stuff......maybe you could slowly train someone on the basic stuff and still send out the more difficult logos untill your guy/girl is up to speed.......it might take awhile but at least you are still accomplishing your goal and at the same time making sure your business still flows as usual....if you would happen to get the Tajima software in the future...and need some help deciding what level or some digitizing questions for your future trainee answered ...please fell free to give me a call and I will see what I can do for you.....GOOD LUCK...
Brent

Trust me, as a newbie rookie in the business, find a good outsource digitizer and drop the issue of wanting to do your own.
If you want to tinker with some program, fine, but don't rely on your own skills for a customer, if you're not good at it. Trust me,,,,,

Find someone you can work with, and work out a deal on pricing and such. If you commit to them, they'll commit to you.

All you can do is ask, so, find a good digitizer and talk to them.

I have 3 different digitizing software packages (Ethos, Forte and Floriani) and have spent many hours learning how to use each one. I used Steve at [email address] to digitize my last 2 designs and I loved them. Now I can use any one of the 3 above packages and make edits to designs that he will do for me. That is the best use of my time and his prices are verrrrry reasonable. My suggestion would be to start with a good design software package and let an experienced digitizer do the hard part for you. It is actually a lot less expensive to do it that way rather than try to do all of it in house.
