CE-200 Tension Problems

I just got CE-200 and cannot get the tension correct.....no matter the setting it pulls bobbin thread to the top...Help!

Do not 'listen' to the Singer instruction of "light fabric, light stabilizer; heavy fabric, heavy stabilizer". Unless you are trying to do something sheer or gauzy, or that you're going to wear against bare skin, use a HEAVIER stabilizer for light fabric, and unless the heavy fabric is also sleazy (loose-weave, etc) LIGHTER for heavy. As far as the sheer/gauzy/lightweight-knit shirts == skip them for now. Get the machine to be your friend FIRST.

When you thread the bobbin, the thread must lock into the slot it enters at ~6o'clock position and exits at ~8o'clock position... it's really a two part click -- into the slot, put finger on bobbin and tug a little, then it slips into the slot some more, so that it *really* wants to stay at that 8-oclock position... whence it runs to the 12-oclock position after the top thread brings it through the needle hole.

Use the vertical spool-spindle or a separate spool holder (a cone holder or a small one like that), and a thread sock. Always thread the top with the FOOT UP, and adjust top tension with the FOOT DOWN.

Change your needle. Even if a new needle. An imperceptible barb can act like a crochet hook and pull bobbin thread to the top on every stitch.

Finally (for tonight), the very last of a bobbin can exert so little drag, that it pulls to the top even with top tension at zero. You prolly won't think of it until the bobbin runs out, then whoosh, all better... well, a lot better, depending on those OTHER factors!
