Default Color Troubles

Greetings!

I am trying to copy original artwork made with art markers, colored pencils, and acrylic paint onto heat transfer papers. Once I’ve heat pressed my design onto cotton panels, I will then sew them onto garments that I’m creating.

My problem is properly transferring the color of my artwork onto heat transfer papers. While my HP PhotoSmart printer copies the blues, browns, blacks, and greens of my designs fairly true, it really muddies up the pinks and reds. Badly.

My current computer – a G4 Mac with OSX 10.3.9 – is so old it will not work with the newer scanners. And for now, I can’t afford to invest in a computer that has digital design. So I need to create my art by hand.

Is there ANY method of getting the color I need? The pre-sales support people at Epson, HP, and Canon have been unable to help me. But, I am hoping that someone here has the advice, guidance, and/or expertise I need. Thank you most kindly!

Cynthia
