Confused husband needs help : )

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a sewing/embroidery machine for my wife for Christmas. She does some sewing on the side (patches on Letter Jackets, etc.) so I need something that is good for that but also would be a good starter embroidery machine.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'll even consider used model recommendations because I'm an avid user of eBay. I don't want to spend a whole lot but I don't want to get her junk either.
