Default Digitizing for heavy cotton thread

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for punching designs using a heavier cotton thread. I've had good results using it as a tackdown stitch for appliques(running and zigzags) but we've had issues trying to sew satin stitch text. The issue is birdnesting at the backing. The machine has been slowed to 400spm and both the top and bobbin thread's tension have been loosened as well. I've also decreased the densities of course. The letters are about 12-15mm high. I was wondering if there might be a different type of bobbin thread we should be using also. Thanks.

you didnt show how it looks like affer sew-out. I sugest you make a scann with good quality, and share the image. Someone can figure out whats the cause after take a real view. Also, much better you name the material over which you embroidering.

Hi, Usually to run thicker threads the timing on the machine needs to be adjusted just a bit, otherwise you will need lots of aspirin for your headache!! Standard embroidery machine setups are good for 40wt and thinner 60wt, but depending on your machine to run anything 30wt or thicker a small adjustment to the timing is needed.... get with your local tech if you are not comfortable doing this yourself. Someone who can explain it precisely is Tom Moore at www strawberrystitch.com

I am not sure how young is Robert, but what he has said about these strawberrystitch...
Guys, beleve these that belong to company of Strawberry Stitch ARE REAL PROFESSIONALS!!!!
Sorry I was off the topic..
For sure someones around are interested, and may search such professionals, ( all we interested in our lives to be served professionaly ) and they (these who search) might find next like them (Strawberry's or same level professionals) but the chance wont be more than 1/200 (0.5%)
So good luck!
To find cheeper service (same as Strawberrie's) is for sure less than 0.5% chance
Again:
For me Strawberrie's site is of these (very few) that is been owned by real professionals! Its much more than visible (for these that have eyes for it) - Strawberriy Stitch Co. DO KNOW-HOW.
( I am not their agent , I just know to whom to say my appreciations. Guess why)

I am not an agent for Tom either, but since I have an embroidered art gallery that only shows modern machine embroidered art, he has helped me with the timing on my machines so I could use thicker threads for different effects. He can explain things in a patient and interesting way, making it fun and therefore memorable.
