All you can do is shake your head sometimes.... I had a customer who kept saying she sent the check in the mail. Still didn't get it. Then she says the mail was returned to her. So she said she resent it and it kept going on and on. I finally said, you know what I feel like taking a drive today. Cancel the old check that you "sent in the mail" and I will come to your place to pick up the new check. Mind you it was a pretty good amount or I wouldn't have wasted my gas.

Today had a client who paid an invoice in OCTOBER for work done in FEBRUARY..... and got all upset that today when she placed an order that we had the nerve to ask for her credit card information...

I am sorry, paying an invoice 8 months later is not acceptable.. thank you for coming back to us.. but you will need to pay when services are rendered... no . no.. why would you think we were questioning your character... has nothing to do with that mam... just we do a service for you and I am sorry but I do not think it unrealistic to be paid at that time... but I do think it unrealistic for ANYONE to think it is OK to pay 8 months later.. sorry...

I had the oddest thing happen a while back and still never paid. I had done some work for a guy out of Minnesota and then two of the last designs I didn't get paid for. I contacted him on the two outstanding invoices and he told me the two ladies in charge of that dept. in his company, their emails, numbers etc... The ladies actually told me he wasn't allowed to order designs that was not his dept, to do so and wouldn't believe me that this guy was the one who ordered the designs. I told them I had emails to prove it was him not someone else from the company. They seemed upset that this guy did this because he was not in the dept. that dealt with this. I went back and forth with these ladies on and off for a year. I finally didn't want to spend anymore time on it.

closed out 2012 and lost over $4200 to non paying terms clients. Really makes it a struggle to NOT be cynical and a real a-hole in business when so many take advantage. will slowly ween off all terms clients during this first half of 2013. sorry.

I now understand why my digitizer e-mails me requesting payment if I have not paid by pay pal within a day or two after receiving my design. It only seems fair that if I expect them to get my designs back in 24 hours, that they should expect prompt payment from me as well.

I have been doing this a long time and it seems the ones I got jilted on were the ones that said they needed it "as a super rush", "their regular digitizer wasn't responding to them so they were trying someone else" and "I am doing this as a favor for my son's school" etc... They all say they will pay right away via paypal and after multiple requests, emails, calls not returned...never hear from them again. So frustrating.

Number of clients increasing who even do not respond for invoice emails, any idea

Sorry to hear that. We did experience that in 2012 as you can read above, but I think some of our clients at that time were either consolidating or going out of business. This seems to have changed and we loosened our terms policy again in 2014 and so far have had very little issue. (nothing like it was during the economic problems a few years ago!)

As a barometer do you think you are seeing the start of another problem period? Right now it seems corporations are flush and spending their budgets so they dont lose them next year. A welcomed come back from harder times.
