Embroidery Operations Manager

The responsibility of the Embroidery Operations and Quality Control Manager is to maintain all aspects of the quality control program for the embroidery operation. The Embroidery Operations and Quality Control Manager will be responsible for supporting management and the customer by implementing and managing procedures and policies to ensure the embroidery operation delivers high quality work and meets peak efficiencies. The Embroidery Operations and Quality Control Manager will work with management and team members to constantly improve output, delivery time and quality.
Job Duties:
• Works with the operations team to improve the cosmetic quality of production output
• Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products
• Inspects garments during and after the production process for non-negotiables and acceptable quality limits
• Makes final decision to pass or fail QC inspections; coaches and trains material handlers and embroidery operators in the total operation of the production cell
• Documents daily inspection results and tests by completing reports and logs; summarizes re-work and waste
• Evaluates the setup of embroidery files are accurate and ready for production
• Coordinates communication with customer resources to ensure quality standards are fulfilled for embroidery requirements of different business units
• Works with customer resources to collect requested information and specifications, identifies logo improvements or adjustments to increase quality
• Reads instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies; develops strong working knowledge of embroidery on customer’s different fabrics
• Tests new products, materials and techniques to meet the customer’s specifications and implement in production
• Develops process to reduce and salvage damaged garments; manages quality processes by reducing or maintaining scrap on or below 5%
• Notifies management or staff of production problems as they occur
• Responsible for maintaining and supporting the 5S program
Qualifications:
• Willingness to achieve customer’s standards and requests
• Understands embroidery processes to help facilitate operations and lead continuous improvement efforts
• Strong computer skills and file management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with different personalities
• Takes leadership initiative and is self-sufficient, but finds equal value in working as part of a team
• Experience with embroidery software programs such as Melco and Veristitch
• Excellent attention to detail
