Hi there,

You can get the Stitch Era Umiversal for free.
Test drive it and if you like it you can get it at coldesi.com

We have been using it for few years without problem.
Vectors from directly from Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw can be imported to it.

Knowing your intent of use will result in best recommendation for You Personally, at lowest cost that meets your needs.

Market is flooded with programs, cost significantly different based on Branding, Steps involved, Bells and Whistles, end use intentions (do you plan to digitize for others, Home/Hobbiest, Business Use, Growth, Budget, Your experience level/current hands on knowledge, etc.

What's your Budget?

Do you have any current digitizing experience?
Do you have any hands on commercial machine operator experience?

Above Variables needed in order to make sound recommendation for a suitable match.

KNOW: All digitizing programs have a learning curve.
KNOW: Trial and Error to gain Experience can take months/years.
KNOW: Home and Commercial Digitizing Programs have an Applique Feature/Option, some cost more than others, that's only variable there.

KNOW: An Applique Feature/Option isn't necessary if you have digitizing experience. An experienced digitizer knows proper settings to use based on fabric type. Digitizer knows what settings to use for proper Push/Pull Compensation, Center Out, Underlay(s), Stitch Type/Styles, Spacing, Stitch Lengths, Stitch Angles, Column Widths, when/where to add Stops, Frame Out, etc.

And it doesn't end there.
KNOW: An Experienced Machine Operator knows when/how to trim in place inside hoop, etc.

How experienced are you in the industry?
Knowing is only way to make a sound recommendation.

I own Wilcom it works great once you figure it out. Tech support isn't the best because they never answer the tech support line, and there is a big learning curve. They do offer free training and recommend you attend it. Good luck in your choice.
