GEAR For Sports, a leader in custom decorated sportswear, has an immediate opening for a Embroidery / Screenprint Manager in Pharr, TX due to expansion at GFSI's Reynosa, Mexico production facility. This individual would be based out of GFSI's Texas location traveling to Mexico on a daily basis.
Embroidery & Screenprint Manager
Reports To: Director of Embroidery / Screenprint
Supervises: Manages associates in Embroidery / Screenprint
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Embroidery / Screenprint
Summary: This position’s main functions are: To provide in-depth technical support and training to Embroidery / Screenprint. To serve as a liaison between Embroidery / Screenprintand other departments. Identify and resolve quality related issues during production. To insure that products are delivered on time and in the manner requested by our customers. Directs, schedules, and administers all Embroidery / Screenprint operations To be responsible for each personnel and ensuring quality and to make sure the efficiency standards are being met. To be responsible for implementation of all policies and procedures pertaining to departmental personnel.
Essential Duties
Supervises Embroidery / Screenprint departments, monitoring quality and quantity of work processed by each operation and / or individual
Maintain knowledge of all in-house Embroidery / Screenprint operations / machinery; be aware of the latest technology and state of the art
Maintain adequate Embroidery / Screenprint inventories to assure planned / projected production volumes
Responsible for training and performance of department personnel; participate in selection, hiring process; participate in employee performance review process
Ensure proper operation of department equipment; request maintenance assistance when necessary
Maintain orderly and clean work environment
Manage the purchase of inventory of Embroidery / Screenprintsupplies, seeking the best products to support our business and reasonable cost
Develop daily, weekly and monthly key production / productivity measurements
Set expectations for Embroidery / Screenprint Departments.
Develops budgets based on unit plan analyzing and adjusting to constraints and opportunities
Seeks approval of budgets from Accounting providing supporting documentation and historical data; Verifies monthly budgets for accuracy.
Analyzes monthly budgets adjusting as necessary; Investigates discrepancies, re-classes entries accordingly. Bears responsibility and accountability for meeting departmental budget goals.
Makes sure associates are complying with company attendance policies; keeping good records of each individuals attendance/tardy records
Staffs Screen Print Department according to unit plan; Adjusts manpower as needed (daily, weekly, monthly).

Physical Demands:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate knowledge of computers including proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
No certification or licensing required.
Experience with Embroidery / Screenprint strongly preferred.
Bi-Lingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred.
