Default Entire head not engaging needles

I use the Barudan machine model BEVY-Z1504C, SN 4106362L07. One of my heads is not engaging any of the needles. When I try to run the pattern, the machine stops and the error is D25, saying that I have a broken thread. When I turn the machine on, it sounds like everything behind the needle bars is functioning properly. The needles just aren't being moved up and down. Any ideas on how to fix this or what might be causing it?

The closest I have had to this is when I tried too wide a satin stitch and the head moved and everything sounded right, but the needles didn't move up and down. It resolved when the satin stitch became less than 2 cm. This was only on a single head SWF, so I'm not sure why only ONE of your heads is doing it. Is there anything unusual about the design that is being stitched out?

The symptoms you are describing may be a broken reciprocator. That is the plastic piece behind the head that drives the needle bar up and down. The most common way to damage the Reciprocator is to hit a hoop. The part is a plastic piece that is designed to break when hitting a hoop or other hard object to keep from doing more damage to the machine.

The switch on the head that turns it off controls a solenoid. If that solenoid gets dirty the head won't sew because it will not engage. Take the cover off and switch the head on and off while watching the solenoid's movement. You could also call Barudan's tech line if you are a customer of theirs.
