Default Gas vs electric..Whats the real savings?

Yeah, I know gas is cheaper and more efficient, but if I'm a small shop; 1 manual and maybe 1 auto down the road, doing only basic plastisol, non discharge, non HD printing should I really invest in a gas dryer?

My thinking is a decent used gas dryer (250k BTU) is about $8,000 where as a used electric (36"belt with 3 elements) is about $2,500, so quick math says $5,500 difference. I don't know what my actual monthly utility savings would be (maybe someone out there has a better idea of it) but lets say the gas is 35% cheaper/efficient. That means on a monthly electric bill of $400 I would save about $100. If you look at the difference of the $5,500 savings, that equals a break even of 4 1/2 years.

I know my numbers are rough estimates, I guess I'm looking for experienced input to this gas vs. electric evaluation. Thanks for any advice.

Wow, thought my question would spark some debate...but, really guys???

As I try to read between the lines and you all trying to mark your territory,

I think that I should stay with electric until I add an auto and need to push out 500+ pieces per hour. In the mean time saving my capital for other uses. Would you all agree that is my best course?

yes since your only on a manual and not doing any waterbase def stick with electric. plus the smallest gas dryer would be WAYYY overkill for 1 manual.
