Default Getting outline to work on leather jacket

I am having a problem sewing on leather. I am doing lettering in a step satin and then an outline around it. The problem is the outline doesn't match up when it goes to do it. It seems that the leather is being moved by the needle pounding as it sews. I just found out the hard way on a $600 jacket. One good thing is that it was my own jacket. How do I get around this? I have a number of cycle shops looking for things sewn on leather jackets.

Did you digitize the file yourself?

You may want to look at your pull compensation in the file itself. Its it WAY off, or just enough to make it noticeable?
