Default Hat Embroidery ????

My wife and I own a Uniform shop in Colorado. We are in the process of expanding and are about to buy some badly needed embroidery machines. We have up until now used two Melco EMC-6 machines for all our embroidery. We do a lot of hats. For Colorado State Corrections , and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. My questions is this ?? We have been strickly a Melco shop so far, but who has the best hat machine. I mean most machines do them , but which one is the best?
Since we have Melco in the shop I was about to buy two Melco EMC10/4 head machines. We will be able to run 8 hats at a time, beside the other stuff we do for uniform embroidery. Always looking for input????

well ive seen a few machines in action.
and ill say this
the older melcos like the emc is a great machine i find it truly is a workhorse.
the new amaya xt also does a great job on caps and can sew caps at 1200spm but pricey and im not sure if theyre as reliable as the old melcos

barudan is difficult to do hats with, i dont personally own a barudan but i know a few people who do and they tell me its a big procedure. To them it is im not saying to someone else it isnt.

id say go with the melcos you were looking at.

Tajima is expensive and you will probably get about the same quality on either machine.

id stick with your melcos

how do you find your melco's though im curious if you have good luck like i have with mine.

Well we started out 4 years ago with little to no experience with embroidery. It has been quite interesting to watch my wife learn what can, and can't be done with these machines. I'd have to say she can do just about anything you can imagine. She can tell you in a split second if her machines won't do it , or if it will look shotty. Thank you for your input. I'm about to spend over 15,000.00 and I'm a little nervous. Your comments were greatly appreciated.
