Hello Friends...

I thought I had already been here, but apparently not...

I am an amateur embroiderer with about 2 years' experience. It all started when I wanted to make a patch for the back of my motorcycle vest with the design of my old Army regiment. I shopped around both locally and on-line and it was going to cost me over $100 for digitizing, and then up to $100 for a single patch. My wife and I talked it over and we decided to look into getting a machine and software and doing it ourselves.

We eventually bought our Brother 4000D and PEDesign V8 software in July of 2009 and we've been busy ever since. So that single patch I wanted ended up costing us several thousand dollars, but we 're enjoying this hobby!

We've actually had minor success making patches for some local motorcycle clubs, RV camping clubs, and others, as well as making shirts, flags, tote bags, and other items. While we don't expect to get rich, or even make money, with our hobby we enjoy the few dollars we do make.

We don't have a web site or anything, and we don't actively advertise, but manage to find opportunities often enough to keep the machine busy most of the time. I've become reasonably adept at digitizing - probably because I've got over 20 years experience in digitizing for the semiconductor industry here in Silicon Valley, and the skills seem to transfer over to embroidery digitizing fairly easy!

Anyway, I've been lurking here for a while - now you all know a bit about me!
