Metallic thread can be tricky. There is a few things that you need to be aware of when using it. The number one thing that really tripped me up is that some metalic thread stretches. Cut a leanth of metallic about a foot long and pull on the ends of it. I had one brand that stretched about three more inches.
Metalic thread has pieces of plastic in the fibers. The plastic causes less friction along the thread path than polyester so you may have to tighten up your tension by a couple of turns. Do a tension test on your machine and make sure you have the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 ratio on the back. As long as you have a good line of upper thread on both sides and a good line of bobbin you are in the ballpark. The ratio is more critical when you are doing narrow designs or small lettering.
Sometimes you have to improvise. On one machine I had to bypass the upper thread tension to get it to sew out.
