Default Help. I need a affordable machine

Hello all. I am not in the business, but, I have a business, and need 2-3 shirts done a year and my old embroiderer, went out of business. Everyone I talk to about doing my shirts, either want too much for the process or have minimums. I have digitized images, I was just wondering if someone could direct me to a mmachine that would allow me to do this myself? Maybe one of the home units? Either way, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg

Gosh ... well... If you want a nice home machine look at the Babylock EMP/BMP 6 or 8. You can find them used all day for around $3 to $5k.

I don't know if that price is really worth it to you for 2 or 3 shirts a year??? I would see if you can find a contract embroider, or a local EmbroidMe.

Well Greg I read this over and over. Wasn't sure if this was a joke or not. If you need 3 shirts a year, pay the extra dollars that you have been quoted. Eric is right,. You want to spend 3 to 5 K to save the money you are not willing to layout at this moment? Doesn't make sense to me. Order more shirts and this will keep the cost down. As long as you don't gain weight you can have shirts for next year!

No Joke, This new guy wants almost $30 a shirt to do the embroidery, is that too much? Plus the minimum of 3 shirts. I was just exploring my options, over time I will eventually make up the price of a used machine. If I had him get the shirts for me also, I am looking at $77 each by the time they are done. Thanks for the advice. Greg

Greg, I agree with what the others have said. Why spend 3 - 5 k to save spending $77 a year. $77.00 X 51 years = $3927.00

One piece of this pie that you are leaving out is how many stitches are in the design? Are you having more than one design put on each shirt?

We charge a one time digitizing fee and then a minimum as well, but I couldn't give a comparison without knowing all the variables.

Yea, I guess you are right, in the long run it would just benefit me to go with this guy. I guess I was just shocked at the "new " price, and jumped the gun. yes, there are 2 designs one on each breast. Thanks for the advice.

Where are you located? You can buy your own shirts at a Marshalls or TJ Max and just pay for the embroidery. Depending on stitch count each location should be 5 to 7 dollars. (Just a guess. ) Everyone is in business to make money but 77.00 a shirt is way over the line.

I thought so as well . the total cost of the shirt was $77. the embroidery was $28 each shirt. Still way too much as far as I am concerned. I don't know, I will hold off for now. Thanks for the help.

Thats totally outrageous ... There has got to be some factor that he's including, like the digitizing cost, and not really telling you. Digitizing can be expensive, so perhaps thats the issue.

For a "typical" left chest design we would charge about $12-$15. He is probably takin two typical designs and multiplying by 2. Either way thats too much.

What is the stitch count of each location? Again where are you located? If you have the dst file you can email it, get them done somewhere else. Even with shipping it would probably be less then 77.00 a shirt. What kind of shirt did you want to order?
