Default HELP! with my epson 4880

I am looking for some help with our film outputting device. We have an Epson Stylus Pro 4880, the software is the Wasatch SoftRIP version 6.7, the film is non-waterproof film 497-344-2-RL from Lawson Screen Supply, sprayed with 610 silicone release spray.
The ink on the film remains wet or tacky and it is transferring from one film to another when filing.
When we originally purchased the printer it was great then we had some problem with the setting when we replace an ink cartridge. The images were so light we couldn't use them to burn a screen. We made some adjustments to the settings and now it is dark again. The problem is we are outputting the jobs on repeat orders because the films are ruined once we file them.
I am wondering if there is a setting that is getting missed that could help us out, I am out of ideas. The manufacturers have been no help, of course this has never happened to anyone else. LOL!

Thanks in advance for any help,
Rockchick

You have top class printer and rip and they are not problem. Problem is in film or ink. Which ink you use? As far as I know non WP film works with dye ink only, not pigment ink.
Try to remember when problem occurred first time? Is it when you replace ink or film. If you remember that, you will pin point where the problem is.
I would give a call to this folks

Tell them your problem and I am sure that they will help you and find solution for you.

Thank you for your help. I think you were onto something with the non-waterproof film. It's amazing how much the suppliers don't know. We used a Xante before so this printer is new to us. I have waterproof film coming in tomorrow, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks again,
Rockchick

Wp-Film and dye based ink is the best combo to use for dark dense films.

What in the heck were you using the silicone spray for?

You should be using Photoblack ink, you WILL need waterproof film.

We apparently received some bad advice from another printer using a 4880. They either weren't using the same type of ink, or something, I'm not quite sure. The place they sent us to, to get the film, told us to use the spray.

Everything is good, the new film is fabulous.

Thanks to everyone for posting to help us out!
