Default Help with my MSP 3140

Hi I am having a lot of troubles with my exposure unit. I changed the bulb as the instructions indicated. Then when I went to expose my screen, the light flickered and then would slowly warm up. I called the tech support and we went through all of the switches etc. Now the panel says frame open. I tried to plug out that plug and it said it again. I thought the wire might be striped so I made sure it wasn't and put it back in the plug. It still read as frame open. Can anyone help me?

One the right hand side of the unit (as you face it) there is a small black sensor about 6" from the front of the unit. There is one sensor on the frame, and one on the base. These two sensor must be within about 1/4" of each other when the lid is closed, otherwise it will register the error message "frame open". Check and make sure this sensor hasn't been bumped or moved. If the gap is too wide between the two sensors, the unit will not know the lid is closed.

You can see the sensor here. There are two set screws that can be used to adjust the gap between the upper and lower sensor.

Jen,
After checking with Israel Martinez, our primary tech for the NuArc line, he said that he did speak with you yesterday and would like to help you further. Being a school I know it is sometimes hard to get a call into you, so when you are available please call him back so that he can walk you through some troubleshooting steps. He knows the unit very well and can help you find a solution.

Thank you,
Ron Hopkins
