Exclamation Help needed!!!!!!

Hi guys,

I need some help please!!!!!
I am starting a supply and embroidery business from home in South-Africa, but do not know much about embroidery. Can anyone please tell me of where I can find any online courses etc on embroidery AND especially digitizing!!I know a bit about digitizing, but have lots to learn, need some help, don't want to outsource it.

I need to start small (bit expensive)...so what do you guys think about the Brother 700e, Brother 750e, Elna 8100, and Bernina Deco 340?Which one is the best for starting the business??

Any help will be appreciated!!!!!!
Thank you!!!!!!!

Hi mcembroid.
Where in South Africa are you?
I would advise going for a multiple needle machine if you want to do it as a business. A single needle machine with all it's thread changes is a pain.
I heard there was some-one giving digitizing classes in Boksburg.
What software do you have?

Thanks guys.
@AlisonB
I live in the western cape, so Boksburg is a bit far..:-)

I really want a multi needle machine, but its just too expensive for me now, and I don't want to go into debt. I know that a one-needle machine is going to take alot of work, but it will just have to do for now.
Im going to get the Creative drawings v5 software...and thinking of getting the Elna 8100??

Any chance you would be interested in a used Deco 650 with 2 regular sized frames, one large frame, one giant frame, Deco Wizard software (not as user friendly as the new stuff, but you can edit AND design with it), 2 re-writeable cards and the card reader/writer. I would like to get rid of them for R7000. All the manuals are there, and the machine even comes in its original box. The machine would need a good service as I haven't used it for years, but it was working fine when I bought the 330.

I use the Bernina Deco 330 if I need to take a machine to a venue. I have an Aurora 440 for one-offs that use lots of colour changes, and an industrialSWF 12 needle (not the latest tho') which I LOVE. There is a BIG difference in the stitching quality between the domestic and the industrial machines. There is also a big difference in speed, and the industrial machines come with a range of hoops (2 of each) and a cap attachment.

I use the Bernina Software and have upgraded each time there was a change. It can do AMAZING things.

Wish I could give advice on the Creative Drawings and the Elna, but I don't know them.

Send me your landline number if you are interested.

Good for you!

I don't know that machine either, but I don't think you will be sorry going industrial - especially for business. Get as much info' as you can from the guy who comes to set it up - and listen to what he tells you about oiling it!

Have fun, and let us know how it goes.
