Default Help with old VIP Digitising

Hi. I'm new to digitising and have been given an old VIP Pro embroidery system (Digitiser is 6.1). I'm trying to do a circular design with holes, but apparently you can only have up to nine holes. Is there any way around this. I was wondering if there was a way to fill the holes with a different colour and just stop before I got to that colour when stitching the design out. Or am I over-complicating things!! With the software being so old there is very little info to be found. I've got a couple of the books by Carolyn Kelly but there is no help in those on this. Your advice would be appreciated.
