Post Help printing on glassware?

Hi everyone, I've been reading a lot of the responses to questions on the site and it seems like people have been really helpful so I thought I'd throw out a question and see. Anyways, I'm trying to do a single color print, primarily on a pint glass, and was wondering how to go about getting the right machine without breaking the bank on something that's basically gonna be a long term hobby. Are some of the cheap pad printers available on ebay worth their salt or is the quality too low? Also, what's the difference between a pad printer and a screen printer? I'm sure that's an easy question, but I'm just getting into all of this. Thanks a lot, and hope to hear from some of you soon,
Alex

A screen print is ink being pushed through a stencil directly on to the substrate. Pad printing uses a silicone type pad that presses on to a plate and then presses on to the substrate transferring the image directly on to the substrate. In this case a pint glass. A pad printer is definitely what you want for this application. You can get an inexpensive one for around 700-1000 dollars. Even if that sounds like a lot.....you can make some good money on pint glass printing.

Hello Select1...

I am new to pad printing, but have been doing a lot of reading and You Tube watching. I need to print a 2 color logo on digital camera bodies. I will be only printing maybe 10 a week if that many. I even considered using a real strong adhesive type sticker, but think the pad printing will provide a more desirable result.

What printer can you recommend for such a job.

I very much appreciate your time.

Sully
