Hey Dave, I work for a mid size shop and have been though 4 large format printers. I have used auqaius, solvent, UV cure and the new HP Latex L26500. I would recommend a solvent printer. The ink cost is higher but material waste is much less.(it is easy to load a leaf of material). I would also look into a lamination machine as well Its worth the money. It is almost the same money to print an 18X24 yard sign or a 4X8 banner as it is to use cut vinyl mask and labor(and you can do it in full color). I love my Latex BUT I also understand Rip software(really annoying to figure out). Let me explain the big down side to my latex is I have to have have a lead(most of the time) and I lose 18 to 24 inches off every roll and loading leafs of material is much harder. If you are in Florida I would go to the SIGA Show in Orlando next month just to see what they have.
