High End shop looking for Production Manager - Houston

Night Owls is seeking a HIGH END production manager for our 100% waterbased, premium screen printing facility. We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to expand their knowledge and push themselves, and their teammates, to create beautiful works of art.

Night Owls is a custom merchandising company. We offer higher end screen printing, promotional products, and fulfillment/e-commerce support. We are known for our use of waterbased ink, and the tackling of complicated and difficult prints. This job requires a minimum of 7 years of automatic textile printing, and a minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience.

Having knowledge of Waterbased inks (discharge, low solids, high solids, acrylic, urethane, etc...) is a HUGE plus.

Title:
Production Manager

Job Duties:

-Sets daily workflow for each department and responds to demands in a timely manner, by establishing production schedule.
-Schedule all print production orders within our internal network. Printavo and Shopworks experience would be a major plus!
-Ensures ALL teams (receiving dept., screen dept., ink dept.) have advanced prep-work completed prior to production date to eliminate any potential down press time.
-Ensures that schedules and priorities are clear for each press operator (and team).
- Ensures imprint information matches to client approved information.
-Ensures ALL print details are correct.
-Ensures ALL documents are filled out, and kept up to date.
-Assists printers with trouble shooting issues.
-Responsible to make sure staff is properly trained to perform assigned tasks.
-Accountable for daily production schedule completion.
-Works with the receiving and shipping team to make sure jobs are out the door and where they need to be in the correct time.
-Balancing administrative duties while making sure that jobs are flowing and printing correctly.
-Evaluate performance of staff and enforce policies and procedures as dictated by upper level management.
-Co-Lead monthly training sessions on new technology and techniques.
-Track inventory and order production supplies as needed.
-Directly supervise 10 employees and future production staff..
-Maintain & promote standards of safety in all production areas, and help to enforce safety protocols and procedures.
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization.

Requirements:
-Minimum 7 years screen printing experience (waterbased experience a plus).
-Minimum 3 years management experience.
-Must have previous Screen Print operations experience along with extensive knowledge of embellishment techniques and proper application.
-Heavy work history in screen printing on both manual and automatic presses.
-Must be proficient in all Screen Print production processes (screen reclamation and prep, screen coating, screen imaging and developing, ink mixing and Pantone matching, engineering sequences, press set up and operation, dryer settings and variables, QC and testing).
-Strong leadership skills with experience in setting the tone for a focused, positive, and productive/efficient printer staff.
-Solid problem-solving skills
-Eye for quality and detail as well as efficiency and workflow.
-Exceptional organization and communication skills.
-Consistent punctuality & attendance.
-Understands importance of processes and quality control standards.
-Displays confidence and moves quickly when working on a computer.
-Ability to adapt to a swiftly changing production environment.
-Ability to list up to 40 pounds, handle a hot warehouse, and ability to stand or walk for 8+ hours per day.

Pay:
Salary for this position, based on experience will start at $45,000/year. Willing to cover relocation for the right candidate. We also offer full health insurance and benefits, including paid time off and profit sharing.
