Default How to advertise your embroidery business

I was just reading the thread about advertising in the Yellow Pages and how people are not really having success with it as far as I can tell.

I operate out of my garage with my custom embroidery biz. The majority of my work are logos for business in and around my area and i also do personalized gifts. I have a ZSK single head 11 needle commercial machine. So this begs the question, how do you guys advertise? This questions is especially directed to the little guys like myself who operate on a shoestring budget. Thanx

Welcome to the forums

Whether you run a business from home or a storefront, the best advertising comes from satisfied customers--word of mouth advertising is king. Consider rewarding existing clients for referrals. Networking through community involvement is a great idea.

Opportunities to market your embroidery services can happen in unlikely places so always have your business cards handy. When you finish orders, give your customers extra cards. If they're happy customers they'll be glad to pass your card along to people seeking embroidery services.

Having an online presence is cheaper than ever. Since you have a tight budget, I'm not talking about a full-blown ecommerce website with all the bells and whistles; more like a site with a small number of pages--kind of like an online brochure--that provides brief information about your company, a description of your services, photos of your work (embroidered samples), samples of clothing you carry, pricing information, how to order information, frequently asked questions page, and your contact information and operating hours.

Now take your domain name and place it on all your marketing materials, especially your business cards. You can even have your domain printed on your vehicle for extra exposure.

Thanks for the welcome and your detailed post. I posted this question on another message board and the responses I received basically told me to get radio and tv spots LOL. I guess my version of a "shoestring budget" is very, very different than theirs.

15.000 for a 22 year old machine is a bit, NO a lot of money. It would be cheaper to buy a new one
