Default How to get the ~ to show up

We have a Brother PR-650 and use the software from Brother. We are trying to embroider the following...

~J~

When we type that into the software only the following shows up...

J

We can not get the ~ symbols to show up at all. Does anyone have any guidance they can provide for this?

Thanks

Ben

Some of the special symbols do not show up in the lettering. Some do not even have the & sign available. It might need to be digitized, if you need the J in a certain font that does have the ~.

Thanks Karen,

I guess I will just have to pay someone to create the ~ symbol for me in a few different sizes. That way I can put it in with any font. I dont see any of the fonts that are on my software seem to have it.
