Check with Texmac on the Happy Voyager. They had them at the Atlanta show for $6900. While it is a lighter duty machine it is much better quality than the Ricoma. The Japanese machines tend to be better than the Chinese or Korean. If you want the larger machine look at the Happy 1501 but if you need the smaller lighter weight then Voyager is the ticket. Also make sure you look at Tajima, Toyota, Baradan. The only non Japanese that is in the upper quality is SWF.

This is good advice.....Stay with the Japanese made machines. This is the list of the best machines and in this order.

1. Tajima
2. Barudan
3. Brother
4. SWF Korean made/pretty good resale value. Not as good as Tajima and Barudan
5. Toyota

You won't go wrong with these machines. Tajima and Barudan have the best re-sale value.

Thanks for the info. So my bottom price I'm getting from the Happy Voyager is 8500 with the Embroidery Forte' ID Suite software and the drawings converter 2006 ad on.

is this a good price? Should I pay this. It's for the business startup. I just don't want to get ripped off!

You're better off getting the Voyager machine with the 5-year warranty.

Skip the digitizing software for now and save yourself some money. Add digitizing later when you learn the machine. You can get designs digitized for $30 - $75 all day on this and other forums.
