Thanks in advance for reading my many questions. Had a nice garage setup in the 90's. So not totally in the dark about screen printing, just been awhile. Joined the corporate world. I was wondering how the screen printing biz is doing with the economy the way it is, because I worry everyday if I will have a job tomorrow, as my husband has lost his job.
Next question: I found a Hopkins 4 color/4 station press, flash dryer, table top exposure, and supplies (some ink, squeegees, and a few other chemicals) for $3000 + $300 S/H anywhere. Is that a decent price for this equipment?
Yet another question: When I was printing back in the 90's, I had a fabricated belt dryer that did just fine. Is using just a flash unit acceptable and how long to flash? Many start up kits I have looked at only offer flash dryers. I know I do not want to go with just a heat gun.
Which brings me to the question: Does anyone know of anyone that fabricates any equipment such as the belt dryer? Not really interested in a fabricated press, but like I said, the dryer worked great.
One more question and I will hush: I used to use the type emulison that I would cut from a roll. I have never used the type emulsion that I must coat onto the screen. What are the pros and cons? I am sure the cost is one, but does anyone use the film type emulsion that I am referring? I would have to learn the procedure to coat a screen for sure.
Okay, i fibbed. Have another question: Actually this is a request:
If anyone knows of any equipment located close to Memphis, TN, Please let me know. But am open to making a trip for the right stuff.
