I need to digitize a patch of grass!

Hi there! I am working on recreating a logo for a local company and they have a patch of grass in it. How do I do that?? I know there has to be a way becasue I have seen it done. I just don't know how to create it myself.
I am new to this, only in the business for a little over a year and have only been digitizing for 6-7 months. Thanks for your help!!

Still struggling with this. I am trying to feather a satin stitch and I am just not getting the look I want. Any suggestions???
