Robert, no the phone makes sense... it's small no big deal.
It's when I'm at events, like we do this "Rock Camp" every year (just finished putting together the dvd), we film it and make the dvd for the kids... my friends actually put it on.
But during the big finale concert there are always a couple of moms that are standing there with this big honking ipad filming their kid play drums or something.
Just seems like if you got the coin to throw at an iPad then I bet you could afford a decent hd video camera that doesn't make you look like a complete retard.
Mike, if you are picking it up quick around the house to shoot something, I guess I could see that... especially if it's spur of the moment. I have a DSLR and I don't break it out to snap a quick photo of the baby sleeping cuddled up to the cat... I just use my phone. But if you are going to an event that you KNOW you are gonna want to film something then bring the right equipment.
It's like trying to him up some pants with an embroidery machine... just because it CAN do it, doesn't mean you should.
