today:

client wants to know why her glow-in-the-dark thread is not bright enough and is blaming digitizing! cause she saw it at an ISS show where it worked fantastic... so WE as her digitizer must be at fault.

may I please have an iced tea? just to relax on the front porch? please

client had a design with 90 dots.. she wanted each and every one to be trimmed. they were in two concentric circles so I thought hey why not just enlarge each dot a bit and have 1 connecting stitch between each, no trimming other than between the two circles and even that we could hide. NOPE HAVE to have all the trims. I advised strongly that your machine operator could either pull out all their hair OR quit. NOPE do what I say.

OK. no problem for digitizing

Call back... WHY DOES THIS DESIGN TAKE SOOOOO LONG TO SEW?!?! geez you tell me. watch the machine

start slowly.. sew wind down ... activate trimmers, trim... move start slowly... sew... wind down... activate trimmers, trim.. move NINETY TIMES!!! I really do not know why a 6000 stitch hat design should take FOREVER!? lol (did I mention it was on a hat)

maybe her client should screen? or our client should learn a little about the medium they sell?

Seriously:

Client: "why can you not provide a 3.5 inch tall design that will work on a hat?"

Even here in Texas with our big heads and egos and all .... oh honey child... lol

As my Dad still says: " Do you ride the bus or bring your lunch to school?" To this day it still makes no sense to me but he still says it. Mountains of North Carolina speak. not bad

client wants a design quoted for a "dog dress" not really sure what that is. I have two female pugs and one of them would go a bit unhinged if I put a "dress" on her.

So I ask the client what size would she like the design quoted at. Her response is: "just quote the da++ thing!"

uh exsqueeze me? lol my pugs' dresses could be much smaller than whatever dog your client wants to embroider on... all I care about.. GIVE ME A SIZE no worries.

FINE I will just use another digitizer. FINE you still have to tell THEM the size....don't ya think?

Over the weekend a client asked why we charge to simply convert a pdf file to a dst file.... "you just save it under a different file extension so why would you charge for that?" OH the audacity of us for charging for a simple re save. LOL

client wants to know why we cannot take a million plus stitch design and do it on a left chest. seriously??? screen print for her. no worries We have designs that are over 2.5 million stitches but NONE of them would EVER work smaller!! Talking Airline bulkheads Fancy Shmansy bed linens etc

do you realize how many files we have to give for a 2.5 million stitch design!?!?! we educate or just sew it here. This November will mark my 30th anniversary of ONLY living off digitizing and embroidery Machine and Hand Graduate of the Royal ... OHH LA LA lol

I feel bad for the industry .. sorry. maybe I am stupid (probably) but to me 30 years ago I met SO many people that were passionate Today.. seems like just sales people that have NO CLUE about the medium.

Instructions from client: "Poly 600D + Linen, Insulated, Heat-sealed PEVA Lining, Spot Clean / Air Dry"

I personally have NO CLUE.... although the air dry sounds interesting

BUT. if they had told me the color... well then.. I mean blue needs different underlays than red when the moon is in the seventh house.

Thanks for letting me vent...
